Britney Spears cracked her head open during an “explosive” fight with her husband, Sam Asghari, prior to their divorce, a new TV special claimed.
TMZ founder Harvey Levin alleged in “Britney Spears: Divorce & Despair,” which aired Thursday on Fox, that the now-estranged couple once had a blowout argument in London that ended with the “Toxic” singer becoming seriously injured and requiring medical attention.
“She and Sam were going at it in a hotel room, and it got so bad [that] she tripped and hit the coffee table, cracking her head open,” Levin claimed. “She needed stitches.”
However, a source tells us, “This did not happen,” adding that Spears and Asghari have “never even been to London together.”
Lawyers for Spears and Asghari did not immediately respond to our requests for comment.
Executive producer Charles Latibeaudiere said in the “TMZ Investigates” episode that Spears’ alleged “volatility” ultimately became “too much” for Asghari “to take,” so the actor went to court on Aug. 16 to end their marriage after just 14 months.
The outlet previously reported that Asghari, 29, suspected Spears, 41, had been cheating on him with a staff member at her home, and that the pop star once physically attacked the former personal trainer while he was asleep, leaving him with a black eye.
However, sources close to Spears denied the allegations.
“There was no cheating. And he’s 6 foot 2 and she’s 5 foot 4, so how could she attack him?” one insider told Page Six.
Neither the Grammy winner nor the “Hacks” star have publicly addressed TMZ’s reports, though they have both spoken out about their separation.
Asghari tersely wrote on Instagram on Aug. 17 that “s–t happens,” while Spears told her 42 million followers two days later that she “was a little shocked” but “couldn’t take the pain anymore.”

Sources told us that the pair, who started dating in late 2016 and tied the knot in June 2022, signed an “iron-clad” prenuptial agreement that protects the multimillionaire superstar’s assets.
Page Six also reported that Asghari “certainly will not profit from” Spears’ forthcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me.”
The highly anticipated book is still set to hit stores on Oct. 24, but it is unlikely the “…Baby One More Time” singer will be able to amend its fairy-tale ending with the release date coming up so soon.
Despite all the drama, sources told Page Six exclusively that Spears is “in really great spirits” and “focused” on work — including an upcoming songwriters camp for her first album since 2016.
